A night in the city…

Last night I went for a drink in a couple bars In the city, i had a great night, there’s a really nice atmosphere and buzz about the place.

I was with a couple of friends, and their friends and their friends, so I met some cool people and ended up getting home at 10am this morning..

We had drink at my friends shared house before we went into the city, then hit a few bars. it’s pretty expensive in the bars here but good fun. Afterwards we all went back to the house and carried on the party.

I’m absolutely useless today, this blog post is about all I’m good for..

St Kilda…

Today I headed off to St Kilda and spent some time at the beach.

It’s a beautiful place and the weather was lovely, around 35 degrees.

Better than Felixstowe??

The hangover…

Hi everyone!.

So, last nights drinks continued on way past 11.00pm!. I ended up staying in a bar that’s just around the corner from work, seven beers and a couple of Jack Daniels later, I hailed a taxi and left the party. I stumbled through the door of home, at 2.00am!
I had a fantastic night and met some lovely people but I felt like death this morning.

The hangover was bad!. Waking up with a banging headache, a mouth as dry as Gandhi’s flip flops and a wallet with no money in it is never good! Oh and by the way, I was working all day in a stinking hot kitchen, starting at 11.00am this morning.. Errghh…

My Auntie Fiona took pity on me and looked after me this morning. Two paracetamol, a latte coffee and a cooked breakfast got me on the road to recovery.
After two or three hours of sweating profusely and necking pint after pint of water at work, I started to feel a lot better. As hard as it can sometimes be, I’ve always thought the best way to cure a hangover is to sweat the booze out and rehydrate with lots of water job.

The job I’m doing right now has some great perks, including free food and fresh coffee whilst on duty and as many delicious, feshly squeezed fruit juices you can drink! I drank and ate alot!!!

I worked until 6.30pm this evening and although it was only my second shift, I was left on my own in the kitchen. The job’s not all that difficult but it’s a little daunting when you don’t really know the menu. Needless to say, I blagged my way through it and it was fine.

I’m off work for the next 3 days now and with the weather fast approaching 40 degrees, I’m rather pleased! I’m not sure what I’m going to be doing over my days off but I’ll obviously keep you all posted.

Until the next post, Peace!

Settling in…

I’ve been in Australia for 4 days now and I’m loving it!. Being the tail end of spring in Melbourne, the weather has been rather changeable, with temperatures between 18 and 30 degrees, I’ve experienced warm sunshine, blue skies, the odd rain shower and even one small burst of hale!

With the variable weather patterns I haven’t yet been able to get out and really explore the city but I have driven into the city centre and along the bayside from the suburbs and I’m now starting to get my bearings and find my way around.

Staying just outside the city, I’ve walked around the local area. There’s a wide range of unique shops, restaurants, cafe’s and bars. The public transport links into the city are fantastic. The train and tram staions are just at the end of the road, both taking around 15 minutes to reach the heart of the city.

So far I’ve found Melbourne to be a fantastic, diverse city and it seems there’s something for everyone!.

I’ll be posting lots of pictures and keeping you updated with my experiences, so stay tuned…
